Biography
Dr. Dean Smith is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Miami University and maintains a private practice at Essence of Wellness Chiropractic Center in Eaton, Ohio, where he integrates lifestyle intervention with chiropractic adjustments. He holds international certification in sports chiropractic (ICSC) and is the founder and host of Chiropractic Science, a podcast publicizing chiropractic research. Dr. Smith has a master's degree in exercise science and a PhD in brain and cognitive science from Miami University, with his research focusing on how chiropractic and exercise affect motor and postural control and human performance. He has over 65 peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations and is the recipient of the 2018 Researcher of the Year award from the American Chiropractic Association and the 2021 Chiropractor of the Year from the Ohio State Chiropractic Association.
