Rehabilitative Approach to NMSK Conditions in Pregnancy & Postpartum
About This Event
This 2 hour course will begin with reviewing the basics of breath, but quickly dive into how to appropriately progress a rehabilitative at-home program during pregnancy and postpartum. Learn how to be creative with your recommendations, while reviewing literature reinforcing why manipulation should be followed by loaded rehabilitation.
Course Objectives: 1. Understand core anatomy and the importance of breathwork during pregnancy and the postpartum period. 2. Identify when certain rehabilitative exercises should be prescribed for low back pain or sciatic symptoms. 3. Learn how and when it is appropriate to incorporate rehabilitative exercises for pelvic girdle pain. 4. Understand when strengthening or mobility is required for hip pain during pregnancy and the postpartum period. 5. Learn how to teach your patients how to prepare for birth.
