About This Event
This 20 hour course will focus on history, examination and diagnosis of injuries commonly seen in motor vehicle collisions. You will learn how to take a complete history to establish injuries and causation, how to perform a proper orthopedic/neurologic examination, and how to diagnose precisely which ligaments, discs, muscles, and nerves have been injured.
Learning Objectives
- -Conduct a comprehensive patient history for motor vehicle collision (MVC) injuries, including mechanism of injury, symptom onset, and causation factors
- -Perform systematic orthopedic and neurologic examinations specific to MVC trauma patterns
- -Identify and differentiate injuries to cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine structures
- -Recognize ligamentous injuries, disc pathology, muscular damage, and nerve involvement through clinical examination
- -Correlate clinical findings with appropriate imaging and diagnostic techniques
- -Document examination findings clearly for medical records and potential legal proceedings
- -Develop evidence-based treatment and management plans based on diagnostic findings
