About this event

Understanding and Managing Concussion for the Family Wellness Practitioner is an 8-hour, in-person seminar from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), taught by Jonathan Chung, DC. It gives an evidence-informed overview of concussion and traumatic brain injury: the epidemiology and societal impact of brain injury, the neurometabolic cascade of concussion, acute triage and management, clinical phenotypes of persistent post-concussion symptoms, sensorimotor integration (cervical, vestibular and oculomotor systems), and strategies for countering harmful narratives in patient education.

ICPA's stated goal is to equip family wellness chiropractors to assess, manage and co-manage concussion patients across all phases of recovery, from acute triage through persistent symptom care, with a salutogenic, chiropractic-centered approach to patient education.

The seminar runs Saturday, April 10, 2027, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Eastern time, at Sherman College of Chiropractic (Rooms 253/257), 2020 Springfield Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, in the Spartanburg area. ICPA's recommended hotel is Four Points by Sheraton Spartanburg, 9027 Fairforest Road, Spartanburg, SC.

ICPA lists 8 hours of approved CE for this date in CO, CT, DC, DE, IA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MT, ND, NE, NH, OH, OR, PR, RI, UT, VA, VT, WA and WY. Check the Venue & CE Details on ICPA's course page for your state. Registration is $480 for non-members, $320 for ICPA DC members and $240 for student members (USD). Student pricing is limited to chiropractic students in their final two years.
