About This Event
Mechanism of injury and how the direction of impact affects the risk of injury to specific structures. Rotational motion and how it adds to the risk of injury, especially with concussion/TBI. Cranial Nerve Exam and its importance. Discusses Concussion/TBI and impairment ratings according to AMA Guides, and introduces new CDC criteria for diagnosing TBIs that just came out on December 7, 2023.

- •Understand the biomechanics of traumatic brain injury, including how impact direction and rotational forces affect specific neural structures and concussion risk
- •Perform and interpret a comprehensive cranial nerve examination as a clinical tool for assessing TBI severity and identifying neurological deficits
