Biography
Dr. Anne Sorrentino is a highly accomplished and respected sports chiropractor with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from St. John's University in 1982, followed by her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, cum laude, from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1988, where she also taught Toxicology. Dr. Sorrentino further specialized in sports medicine, achieving her Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP®) certification in 1995 and the highest level of sports chiropractic certification, Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP®), in 2012. Throughout her career, Dr. Sorrentino has been a leading figure in sports chiropractic, maintaining a successful practice in Indiana, Pennsylvania, for 24 years before relocating to Northern Virginia in 2012. Her expertise in treating athletes from injury onset through all phases of healing earned her the prestigious "Sports Chiropractor of the Year" Award from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ in 2014, making her only the third woman to receive this honor. She has served as the USA team chiropractor for the 2017 World University Games in Kazakhstan and as a Medical Officer for Olympic Street and Park Skateboarding, including the Paris 2024 Games. Her extensive experience includes clinical rotations at the United States Olympic Training Centers and serving as a team doctor for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Teams. As a Senior Director for WMI Global Inc., Dr. Sorrentino plays a critical role in training medical teams and managing risk, safety, and rescue operations at international events such as The Snow League, Nitro Circus, UCI BMX events, and World Skate competitions. She is also an adjunct instructor for National University of Health Sciences' sports chiropractic program and teaches for both the CCSP® and DACBSP® programs, sharing her knowledge in areas like "Emergency Procedures" and "Chiropractic Management of the Extremities." Dr. Sorrentino's philosophy emphasizes a non-invasive, drug-free approach, focusing on biomechanics, movement patterns, and comprehensive care that includes spinal and extremity adjustments, advanced soft tissue therapies, and rehabilitative exercises to optimize athletic performance and prevent injuries. Dr. Sorrentino is known for her holistic approach, treating patients of all ages and conditions, from elite athletes to those seeking improved daily function. She incorporates techniques such as Active Release Techniques (ART®), Fascial Distortion Model (FDM®), Dry Needling, NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), and SpiderTech Taping. An avid athlete herself, she combines her passion for sports with her dedication to helping individuals achieve their top competitive form and maintain an active, pain-free lifestyle through proactive care and education.
