Writing a patient care plan (treatment plan) is a very crucial part of a patients documentation. Most third party payers and Medicare require a documented patient care plan in the patients file. However, having a good patient care plan can also help: staff with scheduling, coding, billing, patient compliance, and the doctor's future documentation.
