About This Event
This course is designed to help the practicing chiropractor make a clinical connection between the expression of a healthy immunity with lifestyle and gut function. Attendees will be given a brief overview of gut physiology which will include neurological, endocrine, and relevant immune system components. The immune system itself will also be reviewed with emphasis placed on the innate and adaptive components of the system. Clinicians will have an operational understanding of how gut health is maintained through lifestyle and chiropractic care can positively impact the immune system.
Learning Objectives
- •Explain the anatomical and physiological relationship between the gastrointestinal tract and the immune system, including the role of the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT)
- •Identify key neurological pathways (including the vagus nerve) and endocrine mechanisms through which gut function influences immune response
- •Distinguish between innate and adaptive immune system components and their respective roles in maintaining systemic health
- •Evaluate how common lifestyle factors (nutrition, stress, sleep, movement) directly impact gut barrier integrity and immune function
- •Assess clinical presentations that may indicate compromised gut health and its systemic immune consequences
- •Develop patient education strategies to promote gut health and immune resilience through evidence-based lifestyle modifications
- •Integrate chiropractic care principles with gut-immune optimization to enhance clinical outcomes and patient wellness
