Physical Examination Knee

This 2-hour continuing education course covers in-office examination procedures for a multitude of knee conditions encountered across all patient populations. Knee injuries occur in all walks of life — from competitive athletes to aging adults — and a thorough consultation combined with an in-depth examination is essential to determining an accurate diagnosis and appropriate course of treatment. Clinicians will learn the proper application of orthopedic tests, functional exam procedures, and diagnostic protocols to confidently assess and address knee conditions in everyday practice.

• •Perform and interpret orthopedic special tests for knee pathology with appropriate patient positioning and force application
• •Conduct a systematic physical examination of the knee including range of motion, stability, and functional assessment
• •Differentiate between common knee conditions (meniscal tears, ligamentous injuries, patellofemoral dysfunction) based on examination findings
• •Apply evidence-based diagnostic protocols to establish accurate clinical impressions and inform treatment planning
• •Integrate functional movement assessment into knee examination to identify movement deficits and biomechanical dysfunction
• •Determine appropriate referral indicators and red flag presentations that warrant imaging or specialist consultation
