About This Event
This course is a 36-hour postgraduate program in Minor Surgery & Proctology approved by the OBCE as meeting the requirements. The course is designed to provide learners with an overview of minor surgery/clinical proctology and prepare them for the written examination conducted by the OBCE.
Learning Objectives
- •Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of minor surgical procedures commonly performed in chiropractic practice, including indications, contraindications, and patient selection criteria
- •Apply proper aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety and infection control in minor surgical settings
- •Identify and manage common proctological conditions within the scope of chiropractic practice, including assessment and clinical decision-making
- •Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations and develop appropriate management plans
- •Recognize complications associated with minor surgical procedures and implement appropriate emergency response protocols
- •Interpret relevant anatomical and pathological findings to support clinical diagnosis and treatment planning
- •Apply evidence-based standards and legal/ethical considerations specific to minor surgery in chiropractic practice
