Learning objectives
• Interpret common lumbar MRI sequences and identify normal anatomical structures versus pathological findings • Recognize and differentiate disc pathology including herniation, bulging, extrusion, and sequestration on MRI images • Evaluate degenerative disc disease and spondylosis patterns and understand their clinical significance • Identify soft tissue pathology including ligamentous injury, muscle strain, and nerve compression on lumbar MRI • Determine when lumbar MRI is clinically indicated and understand its role in chiropractic case management • Apply case study analysis to integrate imaging findings with clinical presentation and examination results • Develop competency in reviewing and communicating MRI reports with patients and referring physicians
