About This Event
The objective of this course is to demonstrate the various aspects of intervertebral disc disease. An overview of interpreting the images is provided. Normal and pathologic radiographic anatomy of intervertebral disc disease is demonstrated. Images of intervertebral disc disease will be provided in the axial, sagittal and coronal planes. Images from X-Rays, CT, and MRI will be discussed.
Learning Objectives
- -Identify normal intervertebral disc anatomy and recognize age-related degenerative changes on radiographic imaging
- -Differentiate between disc bulges, protrusions, and extrusions using axial, sagittal, and coronal imaging planes
- -Interpret multimodal imaging findings (X-Ray, CT, and MRI) to assess disc pathology and determine clinical significance
- -Recognize imaging features associated with discogenic pain, including high-intensity zones and endplate changes
- -Evaluate the relationship between imaging findings and potential nerve root or spinal cord compression
- -Apply systematic approaches to reporting intervertebral disc disease findings in clinical practice
