Improving Therapeutic Outcomes Using the Whole Turmeric Root "“ Not Just Curcumin
About This Event
In this presentation, we will investigate the isolating of polyphenols to enhance absorption as it pertains to bioavailability and bioactivity. We will also uncover the science of why highly concentrated forms and enhanced delivery systems are not the answer to achieving greater therapeutic outcomes. Curcumin, a bioactive compound derived from the turmeric rhizome, has been studied in depth for its influence on human health as a potent polyphenol that delivers powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. However, the therapeutic activity of curcumin, like most polyphenols, is limited by its low stability, solubility, and bioavailability. While most available research has primarily focused on the curcuminoid compounds of turmeric, the non-curcuminoid compounds found within the whole turmeric root hold promise to offer therapeutic benefits while synergistically enhancing the bioavailability and bioactivity of curcumin.
