About This Event

Clinical Certainty Through Functional Assessment is a 12-hour, in-person seminar from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), taught by Linda Slak, DC, CACCP. This hands-on course covers a thorough infant exam: the first encounter with the infant and parents, examination procedures, and how to communicate findings. It reviews the primitive reflexes present from birth to one year and how they relate to milestones and to nervous system and brain development. It then turns to examining an older child with a neurodevelopmental delay, including what happens when primitive reflexes are retained and how chiropractic care and correcting subluxations can help with their inhibition.

The course goal is to perform a thorough examination and communicate the results to parents in a way that is meaningful to them, so they engage their child in care.

This session runs Saturday, January 30, 2027, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, and Sunday, January 31, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM Central time, at Hyatt Place Dallas / Las Colinas, 5455 Green Park Drive, Irving, TX 75038, in the Dallas area. The venue is also ICPA's recommended hotel.

ICPA lists approved CE for this date in 35 jurisdictions (US states plus DC, Puerto Rico and the Canadian provinces AB, BC, ON): 12 hours in most. Check the Venue & CE Details on ICPA's course page for your state. Registration is $720 for non-members, $480 for ICPA DC members and $360 for student members (USD). Registration is open to chiropractors and to chiropractic students in their final two years. Bring a soft-bodied baby doll and a massage or adjusting table if you have one (unless the seminar is held at a college).
