About This Event

Adjusting for Birth: Maternal Biomechanics and the Effects of Fetal Positioning is a 12-hour, in-person seminar from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), taught by Kristen Hosaka, DC, CACCP. This course builds on the Perinatal Care with Webster Certification seminar to further develop adjusting skills for pregnancy and labor. It covers maternal biomechanics and how they may relate to fetal presentations such as occiput posterior (OP), nuchal hands and asynclitism. You also learn additional soft tissue releases, a Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction protocol, advanced assessment of the sacrum in pregnancy and labor, and when and how to correct subluxations during pregnancy and labor.

The course goal is to tell subluxation patterns apart from biomechanical patterns related to fetal positioning, using advanced techniques and protocols to improve pelvic biomechanics in pregnancy and labor.

This session runs Saturday, February 20, 2027, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, and Sunday, February 21, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM Eastern time, at Hilton Garden Inn Media Philadelphia, 2 Donovan Drive, Media, PA 19063. The venue is also ICPA's recommended hotel.

ICPA lists approved CE for this date in 36 jurisdictions (US states plus DC, Puerto Rico and the Canadian provinces AB, BC, NS, ON, QC): 12 hours in most, 8 hours in FL, NY. Check the Venue & CE Details on ICPA's course page for your state. Registration is $720 for non-members, $480 for ICPA DC members and $360 for student members (USD). Registration is open to chiropractors and to chiropractic students in their final two years. Bring a portable table (unless the seminar is held at a college). Baby dolls and pelvis models are recommended.
