About This Event
Weekend 2 focuses on the Brainstem and the Vestibular System. Participants will learn to identify major anatomical regions of the brainstem, localize dysfunction, explain vestibular system functions, and apply rehabilitation principles.
Learning Objectives
- •Identify and locate major anatomical regions of the brainstem (midbrain, pons, medulla) and their respective functional divisions
- •Assess brainstem dysfunction through clinical examination techniques and correlate findings to patient presentations
- •Explain the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, including the role of the semicircular canals, utricle, and saccule
- •Differentiate between central and peripheral vestibular disorders and their clinical presentations
- •Apply evidence-based vestibular rehabilitation principles and exercises to stabilize patient balance and reduce dizziness
- •Integrate brainstem and vestibular assessment findings into functional neurology case management
