Graston Technique Module 1 Basic Training
About This Event
This comprehensive two-day foundational course introduces practitioners to the Graston Technique, an evidence-based soft tissue mobilization method using specially designed stainless steel instruments. Participants will develop competency in instrument selection, proper application techniques, and clinical assessment skills. The course combines theoretical knowledge of tissue mechanics with hands-on practice in correct body mechanics, palpation, and treatment delivery. Emphasis is placed on patient safety, recognition of contraindications, and integration of Graston Technique into a comprehensive treatment plan. By the end of this module, participants will be prepared to apply basic Graston Technique protocols in clinical practice.
Learning Objectives
- -Understand the historical development and clinical rationale of the Graston Technique and soft tissue mobilization principles
- -Demonstrate proper instrument handling, body mechanics, and patient positioning to ensure safety and treatment efficacy
- -Identify anatomical structures and palpate key treatment zones on the upper and lower extremities
- -Apply appropriate pressure, speed, and technique modifications based on patient tolerance and tissue response
- -Recognize contraindications, precautions, and appropriate patient screening criteria
- -Practice foundational treatment protocols for common musculoskeletal conditions amenable to Graston Technique
