Dr. Ted Forcum is a highly accomplished chiropractor with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States, following his bachelor's degree from Willamette University. He is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP) and the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (DACRB), demonstrating his advanced expertise in sports and rehabilitation. Additionally, he holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), Certified Exercise Specialist (CES), and is an Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (ICSP) and a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors (FICC).
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Forcum has been recognized for his contributions to sports chiropractic, receiving the ACA Council on Sports and Physical Fitness's Sports Chiropractor of the Year award multiple times. He has served on the medical staff for prestigious events such as the 2008 Beijing U.S. Olympic Team, the 2015 USA Track & Field World Championships, and the 2007 Rio de Janeiro U.S. Pan American Team. He also acts as the team chiropractor for the Portland Winterhawks WHL hockey team.
Dr. Forcum's clinical approach integrates various modalities, including osseous and soft tissue manipulation, soft tissue therapy, kinesiology taping, physiotherapy, corrective exercises, and biomechanical orthotics, to optimize patient response and accelerate healing. He is known for applying decades of experience with world-class athletes to help patients achieve their goals, even in complex cases. He also teaches postgraduate programs on rehabilitation, soft tissue treatment, sports injuries, and biomechanics.
His expertise extends to cutting-edge techniques like Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training and rehabilitation, which he has trained on at USA Skiing's Center of Excellence.
