About This Event

The course will cover developmental kinesiology in depth, with a strong focus on development during the first year of life.Participants will learn to describe the roles of primitive reflexes and postural reactions in developmental kinesiology.Attendees will be able to identify key developmental red flags during the first year of life.The course will include training on how to assess a baby’s developmental age and correlate it with chronological age.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the fundamental principles of developmental kinesiology and the role of the nervous system in motor development during the first year of life
  • Identify and differentiate between primitive reflexes and postural reactions, including their developmental timeline and clinical significance
  • Recognize key developmental red flags and warning signs that may indicate neurological or developmental concerns in infants
  • Assess and correlate a baby's developmental age with chronological age using established developmental milestones
  • Apply practical examination techniques to evaluate infant motor control, muscle tone, and movement patterns
  • Develop clinical decision-making skills for appropriate referral and management of developmental concerns in pediatric patients
