CXT Studies: Body Planes

This module provides a comprehensive review of the planes of the body and their critical relationship to advanced imaging techniques such as MRI and CT. It includes several instructional videos that delve into the operational principles of MRI and CT scans, offering a foundational understanding of these complex diagnostic tools. This course is designed to inform the CXT on the background of MRI and CT, enabling them to better prepare their patients for necessary imaging procedures. Participants will gain valuable insights into advanced imaging techniques, enhancing their professional capabilities and patient care.

• •Identify and describe the three anatomical planes of the body (sagittal, coronal, and transverse) and their clinical significance
• •Explain how body planes relate to imaging plane selection in MRI and CT scanning protocols
• •Understand the fundamental operational principles of MRI technology, including magnetic field alignment and signal generation
• •Understand the fundamental operational principles of CT scanning, including X-ray beam geometry and image reconstruction
• •Demonstrate the ability to prepare patients for MRI and CT procedures by explaining what they will experience during imaging
• •Apply knowledge of body planes and imaging principles to improve patient communication and reduce anxiety related to diagnostic procedures
