Current Technique in Hip Adjusting and Rehab

Current approaches in rehabilitation and CMT of the hip will be presented. Anatomy, biomechanics and soft tissue assessment for mobility and stability dysfunctions will be reviewed to enable the clinician to establish a differential diagnosis between soft tissue or joint dysfunction. CMT techniques will be taught for the restoration of pathomechanics with an emphasis on joint play evaluation and functional movement patterns. The relationship between the lumbar spine, hip, pelvis and core stability will be presented. The use of modalities and manual techniques will be incorporated with active care in novel and evidenced based treatment principles.

• •Analyze hip anatomy and biomechanics to identify factors contributing to dysfunction and inform clinical decision-making
• •Perform systematic joint play assessment techniques to evaluate hip mobility and determine the presence of hypomobility or instability
• •Differentiate between contractile and non-contractile soft tissue injuries of the hip using appropriate palpation and functional testing methods
• •Apply evidence-based mobilization and manipulation techniques to restore normal hip joint mechanics and arthrokinematics
• •Design and progress active care rehabilitation protocols that address hip dysfunction while considering lumbar spine, pelvis, and core stability relationships
• •Integrate manual therapy, modalities, and active care in a logical treatment sequence based on patient presentation and tissue response
