Cultural Competency: Culturally Competent Care for Gender and Sexual Minorities Presenter: Dr. William Foshee

This 2-credit hour continuing education course, presented by Dr. William Foshee, is designed to prepare chiropractic professionals for meeting the unique needs of LGBTQ+ individuals in their practices. It delves into healthcare disparities and inclusive practices, covering essential terminology related to gender identity and sexual orientation, patient self-identity, and strategies for inclusive intake forms and history taking. Attendees will gain valuable insights into current healthcare pathways and challenges faced by transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming (TG/NB/GNC) people, along with clinically applicable recommendations to improve patient outcomes. The course aims to foster cultural competence, enabling practitioners to better serve the health of LGBTQ+ identified individuals through improved in-office processes and patient interaction.
