Dean L. Smith

Dr. Dean Smith is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Miami University and maintains a private practice at Essence of Wellness Chiropractic Center in Eaton, Ohio, where he integrates lifestyle intervention with chiropractic adjustments. He holds a PhD in brain and cognitive science from Miami University, and his research focuses on how chiropractic and exercise affect motor and postural control and human performance. He has over 65 peer-reviewed publications and is the recipient of the 2018 Researcher of the Year award from the American Chiropractic Association.

Alan Smith

Dr. Alan Smith received his Chiropractic license in 2001 from Parker University College of Chiropractic. Upon graduation, he established his first practice, Pivotal Chiropractic, in Fort Collins, Colorado. This practice quickly grew, leading him to expand it into Pivotal Wellness, a comprehensive wellness center that offered a range of services including chiropractic care, massage therapy, physical therapy, counseling, acupuncture, and yoga. After nearly a decade, Dr. Smith transitioned his practice to move to Florida, where he founded Axiom Wellness Center in Jacksonville. This practice is known for its family-based, subluxation-centered, and cash-based approach, which he attributes to an "education vs. selling philosophy." He has successfully built two cash-based practices in different states, demonstrating his understanding of how to thrive without dependence on insurance reimbursements. Dr. Smith is a dynamic and high-energy speaker, passionate about chiropractic, and frequently shares his expertise on topics such as the kinetic chain, drop table technique, extremity adjusting, pregnancy and family chiropractic, functional low-tech rehab, and custom orthotics. His hands-on presentation style provides attendees with practical knowledge and skills for immediate integration into their practices. He has also contributed articles to professional publications like "The American Chiropractor" and "Chiropractic Economics."
