Cranial Diagnosis and Treatment Part 1
About This Event
This foundational course explores cranial anatomy and its clinical significance in chiropractic care. Participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of cranial structures and their functional relationships, with emphasis on the temporal and sphenoid bones as primary drivers of cranial motion. The course covers the temporal-sphenoid articulation, sphenobasilar flexion and extension patterns, and assessment of temporal bulges and parietal descent—key diagnostic indicators of cranial dysfunction. Through this Part 1 introduction, practitioners will establish the anatomical and biomechanical foundation necessary for recognizing cranial restrictions and their potential impact on patient health and neurological function.
Learning Objectives
- •Identify the key anatomical structures of the cranium and their relationship to overall patient health and dysfunction
- •Explain the temporal-sphenoid relationship and its significance in cranial mechanics
- •Describe the concept of sphenobasilar flexion and extension and how these movements affect cranial function
- •Assess temporal bone position and parietal bone descent patterns in clinical examination
- •Understand how cranial motion restrictions may contribute to patient symptomatology
- •Apply fundamental cranial diagnosis techniques to evaluate sphenobasilar mechanics
