About This Event

Migraine is quickly becoming the most common cause of disability in the world, lagging only behind low back pain. This comprehensive course, 'Comprehensive Migraine Management,' is designed to equip neuroscience-trained clinicians to serve as the best primary care doctors for this debilitating condition. Participants will delve into the pathophysiology of migraine, understanding its distinct nature from other head pains. The curriculum covers musculoskeletal, neurological, nutritional, and hormonal considerations, providing practical strategies to effectively reduce or eliminate migraine symptoms and improve patient outcomes.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the neurobiological mechanisms and pathophysiology of migraine, including the role of the trigeminal system, cortical spreading depression, and central sensitization
  • Differentiate migraine from other primary and secondary headache disorders through clinical assessment and diagnostic criteria
  • Evaluate musculoskeletal contributions to migraine, including cervical spine dysfunction, myofascial trigger points, and postural factors
  • Assess nutritional and metabolic factors that influence migraine frequency and severity, including magnesium, riboflavin, CoQ10, and other micronutrients
  • Recognize hormonal influences on migraine patterns, particularly menstrual-related migraine and the role of estrogen fluctuations
