Compliance and Risk Management
About This Event
This continuing education event, "Compliance and Risk Management," is an on-demand training designed for chiropractors seeking to enhance their understanding of crucial regulatory and billing practices. Led by Dr. Kelly Brinkman, DC, MCS-P, CPCO, the course is structured into four comprehensive modules, each focusing on a distinct aspect of chiropractic compliance.
Attendees will delve into critical topics such as the correct use and administration of the ABN form to avoid Medicare audit failures, proper documentation and billing units for timed versus untimed codes using the Medicare 8 Minute Rule, and practical, everyday HIPAA solutions for small office settings. The curriculum also covers essential compliance reminders that directly impact a practice's bottom line, including ICD-10 guidelines, diagnosis hierarchy, and the No Surprise Billing Act, all aimed at preventing audits.
The course is delivered through video modules, with a short quiz (True/False and/or Multiple Choice) required after each video to ensure comprehension before proceeding. This format allows participants to learn at their own pace while reinforcing key concepts. Dr. Brinkman brings extensive experience from private practice and as a full-time faculty member at Logan College of Chiropractic, specializing in jurisprudence, documentation, and billing.
