About This Event

Chiropractic Technicians (CTs) play a critical role that impacts the success of chiropractic practice. Competent CTs demonstrate passion, knowledge, and relationship building skills. At the completion of this intensive modular certification course students will be able to effectively perform the key responsibilities needed for the CT position.

Program Learning Outcomes:

-PLO1: Define standard business operations and compliance policies associated with chiropractic practice
-PLO2: Demonstrate effective communication skills with doctors, staff and patients
-PLO3: Describe basic science principles associated with the practice of chiropractic
-PLO4: Summarize the components of clinical operation performed by the CT as associated with the practice of chiropractic

Course consists of 10 modules: (1) Practice Culture and Organizational Structure, (2) Medical Terminology, (3) Basic Science for the Chiropractic Technician, (4) Care Plan Overview, (5) Patient Intake & Examination Procedures, (6) Electronic Health Records (EHR), HIPAA & Privacy Regulations, (7) Modalities, (8) Active Care Procedures, (9) Basic Procedural Coding and General Chart Noting, (10) Boundaries.

Participants must watch the entire video in each module and complete a short quiz (T/F and/or Multiple Choice) after each video before moving to the next module.

Learning Objectives

  • -Demonstrate competency in front-desk operations, patient scheduling, and practice management compliance requirements
  • -Apply medical and anatomical terminology accurately in clinical documentation and patient communications
  • -Explain foundational anatomical, physiological, and biomechanical concepts relevant to chiropractic care
  • -Execute proper patient intake procedures, examination room setup, and clinical documentation using EHR systems
  • -Perform therapeutic modalities and assist with active care procedures while maintaining patient safety and comfort
  • -Apply HIPAA regulations and privacy best practices to protect patient information and maintain confidentiality
  • -Utilize appropriate procedural coding and chart documentation standards to support accurate billing and clinical records
  • -Establish and maintain professional boundaries with patients, doctors, and colleagues in a clinical setting
