About This Event

Dr. Jack Sells, DC, of Precision Spinal Diagnostics teaches this two-part weekend course on identifying, diagnosing, and documenting cervical spine ligament injuries that are commonly missed after auto collisions. It's held at the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning in Founders Union on the University of Louisville's Shelby Campus.

Part One (Saturday afternoon) looks at the practical and legal side of personal injury care. Dr. Sells covers what diagnosis code M47.021 means, what usually causes it, and why it can put the modern DC at risk, plus the single most valuable piece of information in an injured patient's file. The session includes the CLE presentation he has given to hundreds of Kentucky personal injury attorneys, "Auto Injury Settlement Offer Calculations: Not That Unfair If You Know the Rules."

Part Two (Sunday) is about objective documentation. It covers Alteration of Motion Segment Integrity (AOMSI) as defined in the AMA Guides, documenting spinal ligament injury using established guidelines and methods (CCP, PCCRP, AMA, Croft, Quebec, ACR, ACCR, and CCGPP/ODG), and auto-trauma mechanism of injury, which Dr. Sells argues is not simply "whiplash."

Schedule (Eastern): Saturday, February 6, 2027, 12:00–6:00 PM and Sunday, February 7, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. Texas Chiropractic College sponsors 12 CE credits for Kentucky and Indiana, including 2 hours of risk management. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration is by the mail-in form (linked here) with a check or money order to Precision Spinal Diagnostics.

Learning Objectives

  • •Identify commonly missed cervical spine ligament injuries after auto-collision trauma
  • •Document AOMSI and ligament injury using AMA Guides and established guidelines
  • •Explain auto-trauma mechanism of injury beyond the "whiplash" label
