
Assessment Techniques Using Heart Rate & Skin Variables
About This Event
This seminar teaches chiropractors the rationale, procedure, and interpretation of evidence-based in-office testing that will monitor ANS changes following spinal care, comparing pre- and post-adjustment findings. The testing covered includes: a) Skin temperature analysis (symmetry and pattern models) using simple single probe infrared thermometers as well as the TyTron thermographic system; b) Resting heart rate and heart rate variability using App-based methods and three-lead ECG units; c) Sit-to-stand heart rate test using App and radial artery palpation. This seminar is designed for chiropractors looking for objective, evidence-based assessments to monitor autonomic function in their practice.
Learning Objectives
- -Understand the physiological rationale for using heart rate variability and skin temperature analysis to assess autonomic nervous system changes following chiropractic adjustment
- -Perform and interpret skin temperature symmetry and pattern analysis using both infrared thermometers and thermographic imaging systems
- -Conduct resting heart rate and heart rate variability assessments using app-based methods and three-lead ECG equipment
- -Execute and evaluate the sit-to-stand heart rate response test as an objective measure of autonomic function
- -Compare and contrast pre- and post-adjustment findings to establish baseline autonomic function and monitor patient progress
- -Integrate evidence-based assessment techniques into clinical practice to objectively document autonomic nervous system responses to spinal care
