Addressing Social Determinants of Health in Chiropractic Clinical Practice APHA - CHC Module 5 (2 Hours)

This course provides learners with an understanding of the challenges individuals and communities face in their pursuit of better health. Speakers will engage in discussions about the circumstances in which people are born, grow up, live, work, and age, as well as the broader set of forces and systems that influence health behaviors through lectures and case-based learning. This course will emphasize the role and responsibility of chiropractors in understanding social determinants of health, offering them tangible opportunities to begin addressing these issues in their clinical practice.Participants will learn to define social determinants of health, identify their impact on health disparities, and recognize the chiropractor's crucial role in detection and intervention. The course equips practitioners with effective communication strategies to discuss social drivers with patients and implement practical approaches to address social needs within their clinical practice, ultimately improving patient outcomes and promoting health equity.
