Dr. Harger is a chiropractic radiologist with more than 28 years of clinical experience. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Western States (UWS) in 1987. In 1992, she completed her radiology residency at UWS and attained her diplomate status from the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology. She is a professor and director of the MS in diagnostic imaging, as well as the clinical radiologist for UWS. Her presentations address the importance of knowing imaging algorithms and understanding when imaging has a role in establishing diagnosis. Utilizing radiology case studies, clinicians will learn to differentiate many common conditions and not-so-common conditions, along with patient history and physical examination. Dr. Harger holds memberships in the ACA Council on Diagnostic Imaging and the American Chiropractic College of Radiology. She was named the UWS Outstanding Faculty in 2013.

John Lockenour

For the last 30 years, Dr. Lockenour has taught postgraduate courses in orthopedics, whiplash injuries, physical therapy, nutrition and acupuncture. He built one of the largest and most successful chiropractic practices in the state of Indiana. His informative and motivational style of speaking makes him a very popular speaker and sought-after practitioner. Dr. John Lockenour is a 1977 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. As vice president of the Indiana State chiropractic Association, he was the only doctor to receive chiropractor of the year on two occasions, once in 1991 and again in 2000. Dr. Ventimiglia's lectures focus on doctor-patient communication and its impact on the patient's clinical outcome. The presentations build upon the practitioner's foundational communication knowledge and skills (e.g., health data collection and information dissemination) to advanced communication techniques that improve their empathic listening, promote collaborative decision making, and encourage the use of guiding communication style. In addition, the lectures discuss the importance of the provider's awareness and sensitivity to the unique determinants of the health of a culturally diverse patient population and the communication skills needed to address them. The overarching objective is to provide the doctor with the skills needed to promote patient empowerment that leads to improved health behavior choices. This lecture includes didactic and workshop methods with the use of external as appropriate. A graduate of New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) and Fellow of the American College of Chiropractors, Dr. Ventimiglia served as dean of NYCC Department of Postgraduate and Continuing Education. In addition, he has served as the chairperson of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges, subcommittee on Postgraduate Education. Dr. Ventimiglia coauthored "The Wellness Consultation: A Communication Model for Improved Patient Outcomes." That was presented at the NYCC Research Symposium in 2018. He was the principle investigator/conference director for the National Institutes of Health's National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine R-13 Conference Grant on "Conference on Chiropractic and Allopathic Integration."
